Dr Andrew Chester

A founding Director of Iken Business Ltd, Andrew drives the technical software development of the Iken system. His vast experience in using software to enhance professional productivity has been gained in over thirty years working in the computer industry following his university degree and PhD in economics.

Andrew has experience of many roles, from software development, project management, implementation services through to strategic IT consultancy. He held a previous Directorship with MVM Consulting Group where he helped to pioneer a form of electronic commerce to speed up property conveyancing. Andrew has successfully developed and managed the implementation of many products and bespoke public services applications including Iken case management, local land charges, planning and electoral registration.

Andrew established Iken Business Ltd in 1992 with Elizabeth Miles. Iken has subsequently become the leading case and matter management software for in-house legal teams in both public and private sector in the UK. Andrew's vast experience in software development and his quiet determination to excel has enabled Iken to deliver a superior solution to the market.

Elizabeth Miles

One of the two founder members of Iken Business Ltd, Elizabeth successfully combines her business acumen with in-depth knowledge of software programming. This provides her with the rare ability to communicate business requirements into IT specifications. Elizabeth is passionate about meeting customer needs and delivering intelligent, high quality solutions.

Elizabeth holds a BSc in mathematics and an MSc in decision processes. She has spent over twenty years in the software industry including working as a consultant for Oracle. During this time, Elizabeth has undertaken various roles from software development manager to business development manager for software companies large and small.

Elizabeth co-founded Iken in 1992 with Andrew Chester, and Iken has subsequently become the leading case and matter management software for in-house legal teams in both public and private sector in the UK. In addition to her Director duties, Elizabeth undertakes management consultancy and feasibility studies for Iken customers. This also covers Lexcel, Gershon and cost/benefit analyses. An energetic person, Elizabeth is extremely hard working, setting high standards for herself and her organisation.

John Pemberton

John has been a Chairman of the Board and Non-Executive Director of Iken Business Ltd. since 2001. With vast experience from founding and developing Systems Union Group plc to a global business with turnover around £100m and 800 staff, John has provided invaluable mentoring and direction to the Iken management team.
